Since 2023, Danyella Terrell, clinician, has operated a private mental health practice serving individuals and families in Mississippi, Louisiana, Massachusetts and Alabama, which has given deeper insight into the urgent and growing need for accessible mental health resources—especially for individuals who are uninsured or underinsured.
In response to this need, we founded the Beyond the Brokenness Mental Wellness Foundation. Our mission is to provide compassionate, personalized and evidenced-based mental health care to individuals struggling with life challenges. We want to empower individuals to health, grow and regain control of their lives through accessible, high quality mental health care. Lastly, our mission is ensure that no one is denied mental wellness support due to financial barriers.

In 2023, Mississippi had a high uninsured rate of 10.5%, with 296,200 residents lacking health insurance.
The uninsured rate is higher in Mississippi than the national average creating a barrier to access to quality mental health care.
